Erosion can be installed on a compatible iPhone or iPad using a supported IPA signing method.

A traditional jailbreak is not required, but Erosion only works with the exact firmware versions listed by its developer.

Before installing Erosion

1. Open Settings → General → About on your iPhone or iPad.

Signing the IPA successfully does not mean the exploit can run on unsupported iOS versions.

2. Save the wallpaper file in Files.
3. Open Erosion.
4. Go to the wallpaper customization section.

7. Review the selected wallpaper.
8. Apply it using the app's supported control.
9. Allow the required refresh or respring if requested.
10. Check the Lock Screen wallpaper gallery.

If the wallpaper does not appear, Erosion's developer recommends trying Reset Collections.

How to install Phone dialer themes

1. Open the Cowabunga wallpaper and theme collection.
2. Select a compatible Phone keypad theme.
3. Download the theme.
4. Open Erosion.
5. Go to Dialer Themes.
6. Import the selected theme.
7. Review the artwork and supported settings.
8. Apply the theme.
9. Allow a respring if required.
10. Open the Phone app and check the keypad appearance.

Dialer themes are supported on compatible iOS 26 and selected iOS 27 beta firmware.

How to use the Erosion file browser

1. Open Erosion v0.2.1.
2. Select File Browser.
3. Choose an available container or supported folder.
4. Wait for the container list to load.
5. Browse the files Erosion can access.
6. Open File Browser Settings if you need to adjust the container search behavior.
7. Avoid modifying unfamiliar files.

The latest release increases inode searching to detect more containers, but searching can take longer.

How to apply MobileGestalt tweaks

MobileGestalt customization is only documented for specific early iOS 27.0 beta builds.

1. Confirm the exact supported firmware build.
2. Back up the device.
3. Open the relevant Erosion customization section.
4. Review the available feature flags.
5. Select only the changes you understand.
6. Apply one supported change.
7. Refresh the interface if required.
8. Check whether the change worked.

Do not try to apply these tweaks on iOS 26.

Important safety information

Erosion uses a sandbox escape to change files outside an ordinary application's permissions.

Incorrect file changes can cause broken settings, missing wallpapers, crashes or data loss.

Only apply supported changes, back up your device and avoid changing unknown system paths.
