Glow for Facebook

Glow for Facebook can be installed on compatible iPhones and iPads using an injected Facebook IPA.

A jailbreak is not required for the sideloaded version, but the application must be signed and installed through a supported method.

Installation steps:

1. Open Settings → General → About on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Check your device model and installed iOS version.
3. Visit the official Glow for Facebook GitHub repository.
4. Read the compatibility information and release notes.
5. Find a trusted and authorized Glow-injected Facebook IPA that supports your device.
6. Check both the Facebook app version and Glow tweak version.
7. Download the IPA file to your computer or device.
8. Open AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly or another compatible IPA installer.
9. Select the downloaded Glow for Facebook IPA.
10. Follow the signing and installation instructions.
11. Open the installed Facebook application.
12. Long-press any Facebook navigation tab to open Glow settings.
13. Enable your preferred media, privacy and feed customization options.
14. Test the features individually to confirm they work with your app version.

How to build Glow for Facebook using GitHub Actions

The developer provides a GitHub Actions workflow for preparing a modified Facebook IPA.

First, fork the Glow repository and enable GitHub Actions in your fork.

Run the Build Glow for Facebook app workflow and provide a direct URL to a decrypted Facebook IPA that you are legally authorized to use.

The workflow also allows you to adjust the bundle identifier and app display name.

After a successful build, the output is made available through your fork's releases.

This method requires more setup than downloading an existing signed IPA and does not remove Apple's installation requirements.

How to install Glow on a jailbroken iPhone

The original developer also provides jailbreak tweak packages through a compatible package repository.

Use Sileo or Zebra to install the package appropriate for your jailbreak environment.

Important: Glow is an unofficial modification. Avoid entering Facebook credentials into unknown IPA builds or third-party login pages. Review the source and security implications before use.

Important Limitations

Glow is not an official Meta application.

Some Facebook updates can break ad filtering, media downloads or privacy controls.

Push notifications, login handling and app links may also behave differently on sideloaded builds.

Glow IPA Is Not Installing

Check that the IPA downloaded completely. Confirm that it supports your iOS version and signing method.

Glow for Facebook Is Not Opening

The signature may have expired, the IPA may be damaged or the Facebook build may be incompatible. Try a verified compatible release.

Glow Settings Are Not Showing

Long-press any Facebook navigation tab. If the menu does not appear, confirm that the Glow tweak was included in the installed IPA.

Facebook Login Is Not Working

Modified Facebook applications can experience login problems because of app-signing differences or Facebook authentication changes. Use a trusted compatible build.

Facebook Ads Are Still Showing

Glow's ad filtering depends on Facebook's current interface. Some advertisements may remain after Facebook updates.

Reels Are Not Downloading

Check whether the selected Reel supports the download method. Try the available long-press action and review the selected quality.

Facebook Stories Are Not Downloading

Confirm that Glow is active and Photos access is available. The Story download feature may not work on every Facebook version.

Story Privacy Mode Is Not Working

Facebook may record Story viewing activity through its servers. Glow cannot guarantee anonymous viewing.

Video Download Quality Is Missing

Check whether the installed Glow version supports the quality selector introduced in v1.1.

Downloading Videos from Comments Is Not Working

This feature was added in v1.3. Confirm that you are using that release or later and a compatible Facebook build.

Facebook Crashes After Installation

The injected tweak may be incompatible with the bundled Facebook application, or the signing service may have introduced additional modifications.

Push Notifications Are Missing

Sideloaded apps may lack notification entitlements required for normal remote push notifications.

Facebook Links Open the Wrong App

Your modified IPA may use a different bundle identifier or lack the same URL handling capabilities as the official Facebook app.

Glow Stops Working After Updating Facebook

A new Facebook version may change the interface or internal components used by Glow. Check compatibility before updating.

How to Restore the Official Facebook App

Back up any important locally stored information, uninstall the modified version and install the official Facebook application from the App Store.

Safety Tips

Install only software from trusted sources. Do not share Facebook passwords, session cookies or authentication tokens with unknown IPA distributors.

Download and reuse other people's media only when you have permission.

Remember that unofficial Facebook clients can introduce security risks or account restrictions.
